As a child I remember the small black and white tele coming in and the excitment watching muffin the mule, johnny morris (hot chesnut man), wooden tops ------ :)

Breaking down, (flat tyre), on the motorbike and sidecar on the way to Skeggy, 1971 ish.
Couldn't believe it when friends from down the street drove past us pipping and waving.
They thought we'd stopped for a rest LOL

PS. Dad's motor, I was about 4.

Old telly programs are always a good subject.

Bagpus,
Mary Mungo and Midge,
Play school etc

One of my earliest memories was of my great grandfather who would sit all day by an open fire gobbing into it...  :-[

The house, adjoined at the back used to be occupied by my Grandma and Granddad.
They were the offices caretakers.
Never had a problem parking in town in those days, straight into the carpark at the back  ;)

Still remember dad bumping the front wing on the gate post one day, mum went balistic.
Couple of weeks later, mum did the same, other wing LOL

We went to Mablethorpe for several years with a lot of extended family in some cases. My sister was a bit upset first time we went abroad as a family at the idea of not going to Mablethorpe.

Skeggy or blackpool was our holiday places when kids. Spent many a few hours in one of the large sea front shelters with a bag of nuts and a ball in rainy weather when we couldn't go back to boarding house and parents not enough cash to keep paying for indoor activities (3 kids and only dad working)I loved the bagged shrimps which were sold on the sea front

Ohh yes Mycul we used to go from the Tupton Ankerbold station with the miners welfare and Chapel -- until it was closed then it was the coach, I can remember the pop and crisps being loaded onto the coach before setting off and we always had a bit of spendo given didn't we  :)
