Title: Clegg v Farage Sky just a tad biased?
Post by: therealjr on March 26, 2014, 06:39:55 PM
LBC are hosting a debate tonight between Clegg and Farage on whether we should be in or out of Europe. Nothing wrong with that. Sky have evidently jumped on the bandwagon and will be broadcasting it on tv. Again nothing much wrong with that, apart from the fact that they have a 'people's panel' of voters to judge who has won. In the Farage corner 2 white Anglo-Saxon (probably Protestant) males. In the Clegg corner a female French student and a Polish gardener!!!
Not what you would call balanced!!!

I think Farage beats Clegg easily.

As a debate?
Or a future UK political party?

I meant in the debate.

I don't know enough of UKIP's policies to comment on the second point.

I agree with some of their policies but they seem a bit un-hinged at times so doubt I would give them my vote

I haven't seen the debate, and I also don't think enough people will vote for the UKIP party to make them a major contender in any future elections. Bit like the Monster Raving Loony Party, nice try, but no.

I've just read the Wikipedia page for Farage and the page for UKIP - and also a blog post about Farage.

Although there are some good points in UKIP's philosophy there are many overwhelming reasons why I will never vote for them. TBH I don't have much time for the Tory party, but from my political viewpoint UKIP are 100 times worse than the Tories.

These are worth a read:

There's a program about Farage on Channel 4 tonight at 7.30.

I suggest anyone who is interested in him/UKIP should watch this - expect a few eye-openers...
