Hasn't it been a beautiful day folks.
We have taken flowers to both my mum and hubbies mums graves, and as we were at Darley Dale we called in for a long lunch at the Grouse and Claret, afterwards having a drive home the scenic route.
Another lovely day set for tomorrow we are told.
Has anyone been out and about enjoying this lovely weather :?

Yep had a couple of good days. :)
Went on a walk to follow the old Brampton Branch railway lines yesterday morning. It was mostly around the area I grew up in and I was with an old friend who was big on the local music scene in the 1960s and 70s - and with a local historian lady who knows everything about old Chesterfield. Fascinating and very relaxing.
Today, had a little lie-in after partying last night (my eldest's birthday) then out to Fox House/Padley Gorge. Lovely weather and a bit of exercise to blow away the cobwebs from last night.
Rounded it off this afternoon by stripping my guitar down, cleaning/polishing it and putting on a new set of strings - brought it back to life big style.

Had an idle morning, did the food shopping, then went to mum's to put up a couple of curtain rails for her :)
Then went to MIL's so Our_Lass could dye her hair for her.
Came home, felt as badly as a dog for about 15 mins, f knows why ??
Had a sandwich once it had passed, and now sat watching telly and posting this.
Doctors Tuedsay.
Lovely day ;)
-
A couple of laps round Poolsbrook Country Park this afternoon(it was quite busy) then off to see Staveley MW play Thackley.
-
had a walk to a friends house down stonegravels way yesterday and back. MIL's today for lunch thats about it really :)
Early shift this week and docs tues too
-
Had a couple of hours sat at Hollingwood on the canal towpath, Our_Lass was fishing.
Felt like sh** once we got there but it soon passed. Got some snap down me once I felt better LOL
Nipped to my mum's to finish the curtain rails, mentioned me feeling poorly to my mum, she thinks it might be sugar or diet related.
Got home, felt like sh** again ?? Lasted about an hour.
Enjoyed the cheese on toast about 8:30pm ;D
Roll on Tuesday !!
Another lovely day

@jr, we went to its sister pub - Telmere Lodge and it's gone downhill. It's now chips with everything - even on Sundays - and we had to wait 45 minutes for it to arrive (and they weren't even busy). Quality of the food wasn't fantastic either - shan't be going there again.
We did complain and got two out of five meals free but got no apology.
Hope your experience was better!
-
To balance the scales a bit, after MIL funeral we went back to three cottages where they put on a really nice buffet.
-
Only saw about an hour of the sunshine yesterday when I sat outside for a sandwich. Spent the rest of the day inside the City Hall setting up for and singing in a concert followed by a couple of social drinks and a meal in Lloyds Bar.
Made up for it today when I was taken to The Gate for a rather late Mothers' Day meal followed by an hour at Curbar. Lovely couple of days :)

Alsatian: the Telmere hasn't gone downhill per se it's gone through a re-branding. If the original plans had gone through it would have closed for 3 weeks had a bit if a refurb and reopened as a value pub. Because that didn't happen the perception is that it's gone down market. If you go in expecting the old pub then yes you are going to be disappointed. If you go in expecting value for money then you will be fine. Yes they have had issues with staffing meaning they did struggle on Mother's Day and perhaps service levels aren't quite there yet things will improve I'm sure. If you do want food like the Telmere was (actually better) go across to the 3 cottages but I do recommend booking.

Poor service wasn't confined to Mothers Day if you read the Trip Advisor reports, and whilst it may now be termed a 'value' pub that shouldn't preclude them serving an alternative to chips (Donkey Derby etc do).
Also, whilst we were waiting for the meal not once did a member of staff come up and apologise for the wait - that to me is not acceptable.
We have been there on numerous previous occasions and been happy.
MIL funeral tea was held at 3 cottages and food etc was really good, so looks like they will be getting our trade.

Been working today and been into town on the bus. Lovely friendly drivers both ways.
For the first time I walked from Toys R Us area across to Ravenside. Quite enjoyed it in the sunshine.
I hadn't realised there was a 'basin' in the area for mountain bikes and maybe skate boards?
Lots of young people there all having a good time and not annoying others.
Brilliant idea!
Have enjoyed today the sunshine makes so much difference doesn't it. 8)

That's a lovely photo Scimitar and yes I have seen you driving the buses.
A smile and acknowledgment of some kind is I am sure generally appreciated by most people.
Same for the pax though eh?
We always say 'thank you' to the driver when we get off the bus.
It doesn't hurt does it !!

Working again yesterday but used the car spent a few hours in the Queens Park. Quite a lot of people enjoying the sunshine and the cafe and ice cream van were doing a roaring trade.
Scimitar -if you see an old lady driving a red estate car waving at you - that will be me ;)

A couple of months on from starting the thread - but hasn't it been lovely today folks after all that drizzle.
yesterday we went to Bakewell and I reckon everyone in Derbyshire was there as well - so busy.
Today we have been to a Christening it was so hot sitting outside.
A lovely afternoon though.
Anyone else enjoyed the sunshine?
-
Yep - we did - and both now have bright red foreheads... :))
