Title: Brucie to retire
Post by: Alsatian on April 05, 2014, 04:47:20 PM
Bruce Forsyth has announced his retirement and that he is stepping down as co-host of Strictly Come Dancing.

I for one won't shed any tears, what's that old maxim 'quit whilst your ahead'? I have never been a big fan of his, but I don't think he's done himself any favours by keep compering SCD, he's (to my mind) past his sell by date and it's shown that fact when he frequently faltered in his ability to keep things running smoothly.

Anyway he can't still be needing the money!!!

There is me thinking I was the only one who has never liked him.
Always came over as a dirty old man to me, I never could figure out if it was part of his act?
Frankly he makes my skin crawl always has just like Jimmy Saville always did

Always seemed on the Gen Game that he didn't like it if the contestants were funnier than him. He's ok on SCD but you can see the jokes coming a mile off. Biggest worry for me is who replaces him because If the BBC get it wrong it could kill the programme

I don't like him in compere roles.  I agree with some of the others - he's past his sell by date, and by about 20 years I'd say.  Dozy old beggar trips over his own words!

However, I have seen him doing a documentary about dance from around the world and he was great doing that.   :)

Dance is not my thing. Respect to those that do, he does seem to know his steps though.
