Title: Wickes DIY having a laugh.
Post by: Fly on May 07, 2014, 06:58:55 PM
The plastic washer under the kitchen sink's hot tap fell apart and dropped out, so I found this on the Wickes website. I won't have to disassemble the kitchen plumbing to fit it. Called at Wickes yesterday, and they don't stock them instore. They told me to order one online, I questioned the postal costs and the lady said probably just packing and postage costs. NOT !!

Have you tried Johnsons up Chatsworth Road?

I should be up that way tomorrow and will call. Cheers  :)
There's the local shop in Bolsover I posted about the other week, but I've not been past it yet.
Not putting myself out for a tap washer LOL  ;)

£7.50 in Screwfix for 10.  Not that you need 10...

Think I'll just ring BDC, problem is were not in all day so might have to have a day of work whilst they come round to fit it.
10 mins  ::)

Called at Johnsons, don't stock them.
Tried the local shop. Ken was amendment he'd got a couple somewhere, then his son realised what exactly I was asking for.
Then informed us both that he had sold the last 2 to young Ludlam some time ago.
The son of Mr Ludlam, as in 'Norman And Ludlam', the hardware shop in Bolsover town centre, now closed. How ironic  :)

Just ordered 1 off E-bay. £1.25 with £1.50 P+P Can't grumble too much I suppose  ;)
