As I do licence checks at work it's not straightforward as they've changed 5 or 6 times since they were first issued as printed ones in the 1970s replacing the old cards.
eg it appears at first glance on the latest ones that anyone can ride a large motorbike until you read the exceptions and see that it's trike only
-
5th November 1971 for me (time of test was 9.45am).
How come I remember all that but forget what I went upstairs for?!!! :'(

Hi, sorry for late reply, I was at work. ::) Yes I drive trains for a living. Nothing very exciting these days though, just local passenger stuff out of Sheffield. :)
-
Well reading this post I was thinking I was the most senior license holder on here, but Gerty Gumdrop beats me for that honour by 3 years, had mine for 44 years.

I hope you sound your horn to my children when they wave to you from the bridge ;)
-
Think mine was 92 or 93.
-
What, your children on the bridge? :-)
-
I always wave to kids when they are watching the trains, theory being if I wave to them now they might not swat rocks at me when they get older!! :)) :))

:)) Always a possibility I suppose :)) and yes there are drivers who wave back which is lovely
I took a youngster in the half term to watch the trains and said if you wave to the driver sometimes they will sound their horns or wave back.
The child waved the driver sounded his horn - the child ducked under my jacket as they didn't realise how loud it would be.
After that there was no waving from the child :))
-
Yes a wave and a tootle on the frootle costs nothing and does get a smile................. usually! :))

We went to the Darley Dale Steam engines and when the steam train came in/out the young one was again under my coat.
He enjoys watching them but doesn't like the noise level. ;D
