Have I missed this

Is anything planned for what used to be Hudsons in Chesterfield?
Walked past today and work is being done inside?

Planning application was passed last November for a new shop front. Company said they were doing it on behalf of meadowfresh. Now the only meadowfresh I can find with chesterfield connections appears to be an online butchers. Given the competition with the market hall and the one on sorsby street it would be a brave move if it is.

Meadowfresh has had a shop in the Market Hall for years! Surprised you didn't know that, being in the trade - or is this another 'defend and protect Sainsburys no matter what' ploy?

And to be fair their website makes no mention of any existing shops. So is this intended to be as well as or instead of the market hall?

Meadowfresh is on the corner of the Market Hall across from Hudsons, lovely meat from there.  If you look in their window they have posters up stating they are opening up a Food Court (advertising for staff now) if it turns out as good as it sounds could be a really good addition to town.  Details are on the front page of the above link, scroll to the bottom of the page and also in very very small print it confirms the Hudsons address.

Wasn't there a butchers on the bottom street across from Market Hall that also sold Meadowfresh?

The shop at Dobbies  in Barlborough also sells Meadowfresh produce.

As does the Arrow Farm shop ... just along from the Half Moon on the Worksop Road.
