My dad was stationed on The Maunsell Sea Forts early in WW2. He spent one Christmas there and the RN sent Father Christmas out on a launch with pressies.

Isn't there a similiar thing near Cleethorpes ?

Quick Google gives me my answer. Me and my late father once walked all the way out to one of the things.
I was only a kid, 7/8 yrs old.
