Does anyone know if parts of Sheffield Road are likely to be closed due to the Tom Jones concert and the subsequent music festival thing? I have a friend who lives close by the football ground on Sheffield Road and he's heard rumours that the closure is a possibility, yet he's had no information telling him this.
I'm just asking on his behalf really as we don't seem to be able to find anything out on the council website. Don't know where else to look.
Thanks for any info.

I drove past half an hour ago and didn't notice any signs advising of a road closure; I'm sure they would have been obvious if that was the intention.

The following closures will only be manned & operated by police as required:
From approx. 2pm - 11 pm each day:
Sheffield Road, from junction with Nelson St to junction with Pottery Lane West.
Lockoford Road, from junctions at both roundabouts (ie "Tesco" & "Netto," as I suspect most of us know them.)
So not for all that time; just as & when required. I recall driving along Sheff Road with no problem or stoppage during ther Elton john gig.
Certain other roads closed to all but residents (ie Stand Road)
All a bit of a moveable feast, to control parking etc.

Must have been driving with my eyes shut :))
Thanks for that Stuart, I'll be driving that way again tomorrow evening.

Thank you very much for that Stuart :)
