Title: Anyone famous from your area

I recently found out in the village quite close to ours was a young man who became famous as a singer
Harry Torrani was his name, known as the Yodeling Boy

Very dated but it made me wonder if anyone knew of a famous artist past/present from their village

I can only remember one famous person from Chesterfield - and I'm not sure why....

Wasn't she from Glapwell. Think I was at school with her cousin.  :)

I've heard it said that Percy Toplis, infamous as WW1's "Monocled Mutineer," was born on Sanforth Street, which isn't far from me.
