If you have, does it take other makes of SD Card other than a Sony SD Card?

AFAIK a memory card is a memory card. Shouldn't make a blind bit of difference dropping a Sandisk in it.
Damn sight cheaper LOL

I put hubbies memory card into my camera to upload photo's on net - they work just the same

That's what I thought but I know sometimes you can get compatability issues
