Hubbies got the Beatles film on A Hard Days Night - reminded me of this by Peter Sellers

You oldies ;D will probably remember better than me, but the transition from jangly pop songs of the early days to the storytelling sons like Day In The Life only took 3 or 4 years. What influences changed the Beatles? 1967 ("Summer Of Love")was said to be the year of great albums (even though the singles chart was a bit Englebert Humperdink)

I always say I was brought up with the Beatles - I was just the age where I was really interested in pop music and they were my favourites. Bought all their albums until they went a 'bit weird' with their songs.
They recorded some brilliant songs

Didn't much care for Sgt Pepper and once they had gone to India to 'find themselves or whatever' I thought their music got strange - maybe what they were smoking had something to do with it ::)
So for me anything probably before Sgt Pepper including their B sides - loved em all

A Day in The Life & She's Leaving Home were classics of Sgt Pepper
