Yes it was an accident, the kid didn't cope with the recoil of the gun. I've never fired a twelve bore, have you ?
I think it would knock my shoulder out big style, hence, I've never fired one, or gone clay pigeon shooting.
I have loads of mates that do, but it's not for me.
Would I let a nine year old fire a UZI, why would I ?

You're more likely to be shot by a friend or a policeman in USA than a criminal or a terrorist

Absolutely ridiculous, letting someone that age fire a gun IMHO

My brother has just returned from Ireland in the England V Ireland shoot with his son who has been Clay Pigeon shooting for quite a few years ( he's now 17yrs ). I can't say what he began with but do know that a couple of years ago my brother had to buy him a larger gun mainly because the other one was getting too small and his scores were dropping.
England won by the way :)
As for this child being given a gun to have a go - how stupid can anyone get.
This person should be prosecuted if he hasn't already been.

The single bullet to the head killed the qualified instructor there and then on the firing range. :(

Oh dear haven't read the article Fly and only watched a brief clip of it on TV.
It goes to show though that the man in question really should not have had a gun as he obviously was not aware of the dangers of his actions.
He paid dearly for it.
