As I mentioned in the thread about the tree there is money to be spent on the Gateway to the Railway Station.
I can't find anything on this and it's quite a large amount of money.
Anyone enlighten me?

Dunno, if I'm being honest Pam. But I think there was £500,000 in the "art" pot - £300,000 for the Horns Bridge site and the balance for the Railway Station site, but I've not heard anything about that, what it will be or where. I could be wrong, it has been known. ;)

See this link right at the bottom.
I read in another article that the remaing money is to be used for the railway station area.
Can't find anything on the CBC or DCC webs.
Maybe nothing is planned as yet - but the money is there isn't it

The area in front of the train station, taxi rank, has undergone a makeover redesign.
They've also built a cycle park, I'm sure a posted a pic on here somewhere. I'll have a gander for it.
Maybe that's where the other money was spent. Nowt comes cheap nowadays.
They spent a million on Hasland park :o

This was the improvements I was wondering about.
We were at the Chesterfield Hotel last week but I can't say I noticed anything different
Which sites will be improved
The improvements will happen at the Hornsbridge roundabout and the Railway Station Link – which includes Crow Lane from the railway station past the Chesterfield Hotel and across the public footbridge, which links to Corporation Street and the town centre.

Nice one Fly thanks.
It sounds as if it will be a lovely improvement to that area.

Having walked over paving featuring old railway tickets, visitors will pass over the improved footbridge and onto Corporation Street, where they will walk over paving featuring last night's half-digested kebabs, and pools of purple vomit.
Nice.
