Have seen this on the news so checked it out on the net.
Wouldn't mind going to see these especially the large one by Xu Bing.

-
Don't like pickled eggs so I wouldn't like a Shark that's pickled ::)
-
I saw it at the Tate Modern when it first opened - and even though its dead it really was scarey... :-[

Half a cow he put in Formaldrahyde, strange, but that's art ::)

How many of them would the DT have described as "controversial" if they were outside their offices?

These 'pickled' sculptures aren't for me neither are the modern art paintings.
I love to visit galleries but see nothing at all in the blobs, and circles of the modern stuff.
Slight deviation - is anyone watching Hotel India BBC 2 Wednesday's 8.00pm.
It's a documentary about the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
This week Christies had an Art auction in the hotel.
A picture of modern art broke records for what it fetched - for me it did nothing I wouldn't have given a pound for it.
Few years ago we visited this hotel on one of our cruise stops.
Magnificent hotel with scanning facilities like in airports before anyone enters.
Hubby got a slap on the wrist for taking photographs :-[ apparently it wasn't allowed!
Our stop was a brief call for refreshments and a look round.
According to the documentary the hotel commands £9000.00 per NIGHT!

I went yesterday,a free trip as we were on the guest list, was pretty good and great weather, got quite busy as we were leaving,The Chinese love it, Chatsworth must make a load of money these days with £3 parking then £18 for house and gardens , or £12 for gardens only.
Have to say the house is worth it, you go round Hardwick Hall and its pretty empty inside, Chastworth house is full of stuff.
