Title: Halifax Building Society
Post by: Old Cruser on October 24, 2014, 04:16:51 PM
I'm going to share this with you as I'm not sure how well known this is.
Certainly we had not heard of it until last week when we went into the Halifax.

We were told if we had any accounts which were not yet closed but nothing in them from other banks to  take in the book/card and Halifax would give us £100.00 and close the account.

Today we have been in - it has to be the easiest £100.00 we have ever had.

What's the catch they must want something in return?

No, we already have accounts with them so no catch.
The only thing I can think of ironsky is that if you have an account somewhere else which is about closed you can take the details to them and one of the 'switching team' closes it and maybe opens an account with them?
As we already have accounts with the H we didn't have to do that.

I'm only stabbing a guess as hubby went in alone as I had other things to do.
The £100 is gratefully received anyway  ;)
