Title: Just in case anyone has any sympathy for the Nasty Party...
Post by: Pete on October 27, 2014, 02:30:23 PM
Just in case anyone has forgotten, the bankers were the ones who trashed the global economy with their unregulated gambling on complex financial products they clearly didn't even understand.

Then the UK banks were bailed out with £1.5 trillion in state subsidies, which were by far the biggest subsidies in British history.

Now George Osborne and the Tories are busy telling us that the global financial sector insolvency crisis was "Labour's fault", that the banks are key to Britain's "success" and they've wasted £millions trying to appeal against new EU rules preventing bankers from earning more than 200% of their salary in bonuses!

It's as if these Tory toffs imagine that the UK public are the biggest bunch of totally gullible halfwits in all of human history.

You're very perceptive ironsky...   ;)

Not very fond of any of the current lot of politicians, to be honest.

Who speaks for the ordinary man or woman in the street?

Aye, that's true. Blair has a lot to answer for (including many thousands of men, women and children slaughtered in an illegal war just because he wanted to hang out with Bush).

A complete and utter twat.

IMHO of course.

Cameron is currently benefitting from Thatcher's legacy able to push through things due to there being no effective trade unions and also having the support of Mondeo man in Essex who was encouraged to buy his council house and be upwardly mobile. But equally Labour are suffering under the Blair/Brown legacy of being led by people like Milliband Balls Cooper Alexander Burnhan and Benn who were all advisors to that regime. Never been in the real world.
