Title: Royal shoppers?

Photo  of  Chesterfield,  High  Street  shop, around  1900  I  think.
Just  wondered  who  the " royalty"  were  that  shopped  there.

Sorry can't help on that one I did ask my aunt who is staying with us - she's 87 but she has no knowledge of who the Royalty would have been.
She tells me that back then as a young girl going into Chesterfield was a big treat and they didn't go very often.
If you do find out would you post and let us know please  :)

  It  was  suggested  that  it  could  be  the  Duke  of  Devonshire  but  is  that  royalty  in  the  true  sense?

( I  was  going  to  suggest  that  it  was  you  but  thought  better  of  it )

The Duke would probably be looked upon as Royalty and to have him shopping there ( if it was him ) would certainly be advertised to encourage business do you think?
