Title: Litter
Post by: simondjuk on February 09, 2015, 03:04:57 PM
I was out and about today and had to deliver some stuff to Stocksbridge, on my way back I came off the M1 at J33, looked to my right and was totally disgusted by the amount of litter seemingly thrown through a vehicle window just because the lazy bastard cant be arsed to put it in a bin.

So it got me thinking, why not have a large container at the top/bottom of each slip road so the heavier items can be thrown in?  Granted, it wouldnt work for chocolate bars, crisp packets etc but its a start.

See you on Dragons Den...

Litter is my pet hate.I have been on holiday to many countries and I honestly think we are the worst country by far with regard to litter .Wherever you go there is everything under the sun just cast aside frequently within 50 yards of a litter bin.
I frequently cross Highfield Park and what with weekend footballers and  Oakwood Academy pupils  just throwing litter on the grass it is a disgrace.Only last week I came through and noticed some dog mess in a proper bag and just left on the floor.Considering there is a combined bin for rubbish and dog mess at each end of the park why on earth can't they put it in the recipticle provided.
At weekends Sheffield Road is littered with all the various packaging discarded from the many eating establishments on Whit Moor(there were 17 last time I counted).I could go on for hours.
