Title: TUSC - A Socialist Alternative
Post by: Gulden Draak on February 28, 2015, 01:44:49 AM
Election Launch meeting
Monday 16th March
7.30pm
Assembly Rooms
Chesterfield Market Hall

The Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition was set up in 2010 to enable trade unionists, community campaigners and socialists to stand candidates against the pro-austerity establishment parties. TUSC's national steering committee includes leading trade unionists from the RMT transport workers union, the PCS civil servants union, the National Union of Teachers, the Fire Brigades Union and the Prison Officers Association.

May 2015 will see the biggest "left of Labour" challenge since the end of the second World War. TUSC will be standing over 100 parliamentary and 1000 council candidates.

If you want to help fight the cuts, come along to the Chesterfield Launch meeting and join us to plan opposition in Derbyshire.

Saw something on FB earlier about the old SDP party. All a couple of years before I left school. 1981.
Wiki entry for SDP: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Democratic_Party_%28UK%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Democratic_Party_%28UK%29)

But it made me think of your post about TUSC.
Aren't they the SDP born again, pre joining the Liberals, and then the Tory coalition ?
