Title: Conservative Party Suspends Afzal Amin Over 'EDL Fake March' Allegations

"The Tory candidate in a key general election marginal has been suspended after allegedly hatching a plot with far-right extremists to win votes by stirring up racial hatred.

Afzal Amin is accused of plotting with the English Defence League (EDL), for the group to announce an inflammatory march against a new 'mega-mosque' in the seat of Dudley North.

But, according to the Mail on Sunday, the idea was for the protest to be scrapped with Mr Amin taking the credit for defusing the situation.

In return he allegedly promised that he would be an "unshakeable ally" for the EDL in parliament and help bring their views to the mainstream."

Is there no level the nasty party won't sink to?

I wouldn't have referred to it as key marginal. Yes the labour candidate only won by a few hundred votes last time it that was against a background of a labour government running out of steam and a Tory party on the up. Previous elections have seen 7-10k labour majorities. If this is true it smacks of total desperation.

I'm not saying the story isn't true but it strikes me as strange that the EDL would 'conspire' with a Muslim and make him look like the good guy for stopping them marching on a mosque?
