Title: Fabio, resigned or pushed !
Post by: Fly on February 08, 2012, 08:07:45 PM
If he's resigned, does he have to pay back his contract fees.
He spoke out against the FA's decision about John Terry.
Couldn't they have sacked him, or would they be liable to pay his contract fees.

TBH, sounds like he hated the job anyway.
Not like he was very good at it. Had a problem getting the team to win IMHO  ;)

Well, it's not the first time an Italian has left a sinking ship...  ::)

Looking from the outside I'd suspect that his comments over the weekend about Terry being stripped of the captaincy by the FA breached the terms of his contract. What I can't understand is when he first took over he publicly stated that he couldn't understand the english fixation with who was captain, he was used to the Italian system where the player with the most caps was captain.
So why did he now see this as a resigning issue?
At the end of the season I'd expect that Internazionale, AC Milan, Real Madrid Chelsea and possibly even the Mancs will be in the market for new managers. Capello has a reputation as a good club manager but he knows that He would be going to the Euros with a squad where his first choice striker is out for the first few games, his first choice central defensive partnership wouldn't be talking to each other, his black players might be resentful towards another member of his squad, his captain would know he wasn't his first choice. It's a disaster waiting to happen (see France) and thus would lessen his reputation. He's followed the example of our seafaring friend and jumped before the waters go too deep.

Its about time we had an English Manager anyway.

Harry Redknapp is the favourite and I think it will be good to have someone whos interested in the team.

He knows what its like to be a proud Englishman so it cant be bad.

Harry Redknapp
Managerial career 25 years
Major clubs managed 1
Major trophies won 1
times relegated 3

but there's only 4 english managers in the Premiership so he's the best of a bad lot

Should have said personally I'd give it to Psycho, at least he cares about the job (though we all know what a disaster last time we promtoed the assistant was)

The best British Premiership  managers, unfortunately, seem to be Scottish maybe fed up with the pathetic league up there.

Lambert has probably done best in the last couple of years given his starting position.

he's had to zip it because of his contract apparently. MP's sorry he's gone but thinks he's wrong about Terry

The FA are just reminding us of how incompetant they are.

They give him a job on a salary of £6million a year, he then messes up during the world cup, but they can't afford to sack him, so just before the next major tornament, completely undermine him, knowing the reaction it would cause.
