Title: Benefit cheat, taxi driver, and CBC !
Post by: Fly on May 20, 2015, 10:55:50 PM
Yes I know her. Yes she was in the wrong. I'm not sticking up for her  :(

Does it prove CBC's points system for taxi drivers is 'right' are wrong though?
Should a local council have the right to add an 'extension ' to a punishment served by a court ?
So now she can't continue her job that she's done for the last 15 years due to the council revoking her badge.
How is she supposed to pay back the money ?
Chances are, no other employer will set her on in another role due to her criminal record saying she is a thief or such.
The firm she worked for didn't sack her, she didn't rob them, they were quite willing to let her go about her daily job.
If I ran my own taxi firm, I'd set her on, but I couldn't. CBC have made sure of that!

So that's it, let her claim benefits and let the tax payer pay it back for her  ::)

Come on CBC, give her the badge back. At least let 'her' pay for the crime !!

I know she is a benefit cheat but why have her badge taken off her? How do they expect her to pay it back.

If my situation is anything to go by she will not be able to afford it.
I already in the red after being paid piss poor money :(
CBC obviously have some funny ideas...

This person should have thought about the consequences before she did what she did.
She knew the rules of employment.

Taxi drivers need to be trustworthy - she was a thief.
Would this person short change the vulnerable and elderly who used her taxi? Could she be trusted?
I'm not impressed with her using 'the poor vulnerable children who are used to her and will be upset to have a different driver' either!

Having said all this I do agree that she won't be able to pay it back.
So she will need to find another job and until then be made to do some work cleaning the streets or something.

The DT headline was misleading, she  is not an employee of DCC and if her employer wants to offer her a different role and stand by her they can. Honesty is a criteria of being a badge holder.

I assume that's the paper headline? Web makes no mention of DCC?

Ultimately she has done wrong, so must face the consequences.

And face the consequences she will.
Though the tax payer will foot the bill, trust me.
And that isn't a pull down on her  (y)

I'm sure there are many more cases locally where a more suitable 'punishment' could have been administered.
Sadly I'm not a judge. Perhaps I'm too soft  :-X
