Is this true then, are Bolsover people unhappy and why if you are?
The link below says so-

Basically more bullshit press by the DT trying to alienate people.
1. If you look closer at the list of 'unhappy' places, you'll see that 2 of the places are District Council areas - Cannock Chase and Fenland, Cambridgeshire - not towns.
2. It wasn't about Bolsover, it's about people's 'personal well-being'.
3. Nobody asked me about anything 8)
More typical Michael Broomhead crap here: http://www.scribblelive.com/Event/Your_Derbyshire_Live/189773390 (http://www.scribblelive.com/Event/Your_Derbyshire_Live/189773390)

To be fair not just the DT reporting it....was on the BBC website as well.
-
I would also add that newspapers are crap, incredibly biased, and most of them rely on scare stories, sex and outright lies to sell their rubbish papers. The sooner they all go the way of NOTW the better. Especially the Mail and the Sun.
-
And I have to pay for a TV license to a company that spreads crap :)) :))

Trevor Marsh, from the Bolsover Pics FB Group:
May I use a new thread to give an update on the 'unhappiest place' story.
Because of the understandable perceived slight on Bolsover town itself, due to very sloppy journalism in my opinion, I emailed the Office for National Statistics (ONS) who referred my query to their National Wellbeing Survey Team.
I have now received a very helpful, extensive reply which I won't provide in full but which includes, as follows, the definitive proof that the results do not apply to Bolsover TOWN itself but to the Bolsover District Council area.
"As detailed in the reference table which accompanies the main report, the data for Bolsover refer to Bolsover Local Authority District which had a sample size of 80. We are unable to provide data for individual post codes due to potential disclosure issues."
I had already contacted a few media organisations asking them to correct the mistaken portrayal of Bolsover town as the unhappiest place in the UK but I doubt that they are interested if just one person contacts them.
You happy people might wish to contact media organisations yourselves or just let the slur against us continue, it's up to you.
