Social media - not my thing at all. Most of what I've seen on Facebook seems totally pointless; pictures of food, videos of animals being 'funny', lots of sentimental 'tosh'.

Have to agree with you on all those points Dave but I use it to keep in touch with family and also local news as in our village.
I've just seen a post on the Chesterfield online facebook group that there are plans for the Elder Way Co-op.
It will be interesting to see what happens!

Problem half the time is not Facebook but some folk that use it! Folk tend i'm "friends" with get a chance but if they continue to irritate me i unfollow them so their rubbish doesnt clutter up my feed. Along with Twitter etc social media can be very useful.....we have both twitter and facebook for our cricket club and its great for getting news out to folk.

I really like Facebook, but then, I have no problem blocking folks that piss me off. I've got some nice old pics from there and a few of my "friends" are actually friends.

Same here. What annoys me are the people that use it like a diary.
1 min ago - woke up
2 min ago - going to put kettle on
3 min ago - putting milk in the cup
3 min ago - putting sugar in
etc etc etc
Ive got family members (not close) that ive unfollowed due to them posting every 30 seconds.
If only there was a way to block the stupid pictures like 'like in 3 seconds if you wish cancer didnt exist' Yes i wish cancer didnt exist but liking a post wont make it happen. These people should spend the time raising money into research

Completely agree. eithe rposting every few minutes or a change of picture every day! I like facebook and am an addict but there are things that I just don't want to see. People probably get fed up with my posts when i make them or pictures but again I don't add or post that often!

Totally agree.
Though I love posting pics of my tea etc too.
I'm sure my 'friends' realise most of the time it's just me taking the P or having a laugh. If they don't like it, just block me.
