It has been reported in the Sheffield Star that British Home Stores are asking for rent reduction on 40 stores though out the country. BHS are in negotiations with landlords that include Meadowhall , Vicar Lane , Chesterfield and the Moor at Sheffield to bring down rent as the retailer struggles with the tough economic conditions. If the negotiations fail it's likely that BHS will close 40 struggling stores down . If that happen the anchor store at Vicar Lane might close which will put off any potential tenants on opening new store on Vicar Lane . Not good

I'm not surprised at this TBH.
In light of how the Chesterfield BHS has reorganised it's store it was obvious they were struggling.
