Just thought this may be helpful to some who use the A61 Dronfield
The following roads between Chesterfield and Sheffield are set to be resurfaced by us and will be closed from Monday 25 April until Friday 29 April 2016 between 8pm and 6am each night.
A61 Dronfield Bypass, both directions between the sliproads at Sheepbridge and Bowshaw roundabout.
A61 Chesterfield Road South, between Bowshaw roundabout and Meadowhead roundabout.
B6057 Jordanthorpe Parkway between Bowshaw roundabout and B6158 Dyche Lane roundabout.
Access will be given to emergency vehicles but a signed diversion route will be in place for other motorists via B6057 Unstone to Dronfield − B6158 Green Lane − Dronfield − B6056 Coal Aston − B6158 Dyche Lane − B6057 Jordanthorpe Parkway− A6102 Bochum Parkway and vice versa.
Our Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Infrastructure, Councillor Dean Collins said:
"Over time roads do start to naturally deteriorate from constant use and from other factors beyond our control including bad weather such as ice, snow and flooding.
"It's essential that we regularly resurface our roads so they are safe to use. We've tried to keep disruption to a minimum by carrying out the work between 8pm and 6am but please still allow extra time for your journey as there may be some delays.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope motorists will bear with us while this work takes place

Pleasure scimitar - I'm more than just a bent finger ::)

Has the merger of Chesterfield and Sheffield happened? Because as far as I know the majority of Chesterfield Road South and Jordanthorpe Parkway is in South Yorkshire.

No. It's not happened yet. Simply DCC website mentioned some roadworks on their website which potentially will affect some Stagecoach bus services between Chesterfield & Sheffield. The A61 was my main concern but it's all been resolved now.

Can I ask how scimitar?

From what I saw this morning at work it seems buses will be allowed through the roadworks. They are being carried out at night apparently, so there should be virtually no impact on services.

Was that the reason Stage Coach wasn't notified scimitar?

The quote on the opening post does say they're shut between 8pm and 6am which seems to be the norm for these sorts of works recently. That should really minimize the impact they will have on traffic in general not just buses.
Derbyshire CC tweeted this link earlier to details about it as well :-
