Any fly tipping hotspots around the town, plenty around the motorway towards Sheffield. Council charges to blame, irresponsible people ?
-
Don't think its council charges more laziness I have taken a fridge, garden waste and also what may have been asbestos to Chesterfield Stongravels (asbestos as to double bagged and taped by law I think never been charged ,same at Bolsover tip.

There is a charge of I think ?20.00 for one item to collect from home.
If a person can get their rubbish and chuck it over the wall then they can take it to the dump.
Isn't it businesses who have to pay to dispose in the dump though?

Businesses have to pay to have their normal business rubbish taken away too.
That's why I see them day in day out putting stuff in road side bins in town LOL :))

Yes you do have to pay for it to be collected from home ?15 last time I paid for a settee must have gone up ,but well worth the money still if its a heavy item .

Daughter recently needed a bed taking away and yes it has gone up to ?20.00.
We take smaller items to the dump our selves obviously can't get a bed in an estate car so yes it's worth it to get rid.

Sometimes on a nice sunny summers day we like to get in the car for a leisurely drive around often ending up in South Derbyshire. We pull in the lay- by on a remote county road to be meet by more often than not fly tipped rubbish for all to view anything from builders rubbish to fridges. Mattress are a popular dumpling item.

I'm not sure it's that prevelent around Derbyshire, I get round a lot of it playing cricket and walking the dog and only once come across proper fly tipping. That was on the path from The corner just up from ashgate hospice down towards Linacre resovoirs. Not actually sure how they got it where they did as it was more or less halfway and the time and hassle it took to get a truck/van/pick up there they could have gone to the tip. I reported it the chesterfield council who took all the details, went over and found it only to call me back saying its down to nth east Derbyshire council to collect it as its in their area so told them and they were fetching it.
