Today while heading to Newbold I noticed a very large white painted bus as sods law would have it I didn't have my camera with me. Any way told my Dad about this bus and he believes the bus is Olympia in make and says they were ran in Hong Kong by Stagecoach in the 1990s. After Stagecoach pulled out of Hong Kong some of the buses were brought back to the UK a notable feature is they have six wheels and have large seating on board. Was this a one off thing or will this bus be seen around the town my Dad itching to get a photo of it ?

Was it an open topped bus by any chance?

No the bus was covered painted white with a zig zag pattern near the back .
-
Not seen it then WCT.
Have been into town by bus today and got the most miserable driver for a long time.
As we approached town we passed an open topped bus - don't see many around here.

Panic over WCT ;)

It was "borrowed" for the day. It's still in Stagecoach old livery and branded as "Britain's Biggest Bus".https://www.facebook.com/mb.bartle/videos/1418334761517209/

I think this bus was operated as the East Midland Meggadecker between Chesterfield and Mansfield in the early nineties before moving on to United Counties. I certainly remember seeing it years ago.

Apparently it did services 80 & 74 which both go through very tight housing estates in calow and inkersall. Wished I could have driven it myself - but long weekend off got in the way. Back to work tuesday :)
