So then if like me have a family rent to pay plus bills how can zero hour contacts benefit people like me ? The truth is it can't how can it? Your employer rings you up when they feel fit to do a few hours of work that will not cover your daily living. Unions don't have the power they once did to protect workers rights that are second fiddle as employers have the final say. Notice the rise in pound shops anyone thought why these shops came into been? The truth wages are falling behide prices year on year its a downward spiral that no party wants to tackle. We need low prices to bring down the cost of living its total madness that can only end one way total collapse.

Whilst ever we have people in the country who will work for whatever reasons for very little this problem will continue.
It brings my memory back to the 80's when shops were bringing in the Sunday working day.
In the shop I was in it was generally the younger people and students who would work Sundays, whilst older people like me refused it.
We knew what it would lead to and it was flat rate as well, where as in many jobs Saturday was time and a half and Sunday's double time
Back then it was a trial run - look where we are now with it!
