Just over were I'm am we had high winds , hail stones , lighting, going dark to the point the street lamps came on early. Then suddenly the sky came light and blue sky's appeared again as if nothing had happened. My partner was driving home she said she had the radio on but the signal cut out until the sky cleared. A part tornado was seen above Sheffield, Iv seen something like that a few years ago strange sight.

One of our members I'm friends with on facebook posted this link to a great website.
http://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en#y=53.2466;x=-1.4822;z=10;t=3;m=sat;r=0;s=1;o=0;b=;n=0;d=2;dl=2;dc=0;
This area was orange and red with lightning strikes, averaging about a strike a second.
It's all very calm like a normal map now. Wish I'd took a screen shot. Didn't think to :(

I was out of the country but heard about the storm.
Someone I know were struck by lightening.
It hit the telephone wire and bounced off onto the TV ariel.
Blew a TV up, blacked all the plug sockets - very frightening.
They have no landline.
Not got all the details as we were away but will be speaking to them tomorrow. -
Is it an 'Act of God' - or will the insurance Company pay up?
