Title: Hurricanes
Post by: Old Cruser on September 11, 2017, 04:54:17 PM
It's been a tense few days for so many out in the Caribbean and America. So frightening for those who were trapped there.

Why though do people book holidays without doing their home work about the country they are going to?
Is it because the holidays are cheap?

I make no apologies when I say I do not feel sorry for them but only for the people who live there.

It is the Hurricane season - what do they expect?

It's not the first time I have come across people being disappointed when they have booked a holiday only to find that through their own fault the holiday has been ruined.

If you want to travel to far off places - do some research on where you are going!

Can't the same be said for some of the people who live there.

I say 'some of the people', me and scimitar have a mutual friend who lives in Florida.
I'm sure he's not stood there saying 'well I'll be, bloody weather!'
PS. He's Ok  (y)

If a person is living there I would imagine they are aware of the Hurricane Season.

I haven't heard any locals bleating about it.

No use  moaning about being 'ditched' by the UK Government or Travel Agents when you can't be arsed to check where you are going.

Few years ago we went to Dubai ( another place people have failed to pre-check out )
Our plan was to join a ship and cruise to India - did my home work no probs.
Embarkation day was chaos as passengers found they didn't have the right documents to get into India!
Some returned home whilst others stayed - but couldn't get off the ship!
Moaned the whole frigging cruise - now whose fault was that?

Pleased your friend is ok  ;)
