Don't confuse the issues though. Corruption goes on in the public sector too.

Thanks mainly the The Gaurdians work for uncovering it, it seems there is a large number of public officials having been made redundant, then get taken on as a private company, though still an individual. This changes the tax situation as they are no longer PAYE, and con us taxpayers out of thousands in contributions.

The issue of private companies being used in the NHS is a different issue, which maybe worth discussing if I could be arsed, but I think the point of the post is about greedy gits offering / getting back-handers which then has a consequence on us, the public. Like I said though, thats not restricted to the private sector, take a look at the EU, the most corrupt organisation you'll ever find, all in the name of democracy!

Two wrongs make a right?

What? I said they are two different things, nothing about wrong or right.

Clearly any sort of corruption is wrong.

Whether or not you think its wrong for private bodies to be involved in the NHS depends on whether or not you want to see the NHS move forward, providing the best value it can in growing, demanding times or if you would rather your political ideology stand in the way. Even John Prescott, that dinosaur of the left, conceded on Question Time on Thursday night, that a lot of the changes relating to private companies coming into the NHS were started by Labour, because the uncomfortable truth is that the NHS needs more money than tax payers can afford.

Because Chesterfield Council use a private company to empty our bins, it doesn't mean there's been any corruption involved, they are 2 separate issues. And corruption is not acceptable where ever it is. If you can't understand that they are different issues, then your argument is weak. Just to say 2 wrongs don't make a right is nonsense. I could say a bird in the hand......whatever, a cliche doesn't address the issues.

I said I couldn't be arsed to get into it earlier so if you want to see the issue being discussed, watch Question Time on iplayer....the politicians from the three main parties basically agreed on that point.

Although councils are audited for value for money and not just that the books balance.

and councils audited as being run prudently are voted out on claims that they are wasting money (council's of all three colours before you start). What's your point?

Probably because the sums involved are smaller.
Though Dame Shirley Porter would probably disagree
