I have to admit to thinking that the original 5.5% offer was quite good in the current climate - although I suppose the offer could have had underlying conditions.
Perhaps someone 'in the know' could enlighten us?

Not me - our own pay talks are about to start (Chesterfield).
I cant say anything under threat of disciplinary action from my employers, God Bless 'em.
We'll see whats offered and take it from there.
I'm sure we wont make the mistakes South yorks did though. If they had accepted what was offered from day one, they would have been better off so I'm led to beleive. The longer they strung it out the worse off they became.
