What are others thoughts on The Christmas shops which open up in Chesterfield purely fir the season.
I was chatting to someone the other day who told me they thought it was unfair on regular traders as what they sell very often undercuts regulars.

Boils down to the same thing about me once moaning about there being too many taxis in town.
Someone told me if I can't compete with the competition, move on. Sad but true :(

It's that same old argument about competition... is it good or bad.
One argument is competition keeps prices at a reasonable rate because if there were no competition the "regulars" would get greedy and constantly put up prices knowing they had the monopoly.
The other side of the coin is too much competition and prices start to drop to a ridiculous level, to gain trade, to the point the "small guys" can't make a living and go out of business.
As with taxi's Fly {as you well know} it's a business that peaks and troughs throughout the day, never more so than when the pubs and clubs turn out of an evening. You can never have enough cabs, but obviously there's not enough work to warrant the numbers during the day, as the long line of cabs on the L.M.S. rank during the day proves.
