Apparently {according to the experts} if the U.K. where to go 100% green tomorrow, globally it wouldn't make one iota of difference to the worlds climate.
China, America, India to name but a few are belching out that much carbon daily it would take a miracle to just slow down global warming let alone stop it.
90% of the people responsible for this mess won't be here in another fifty years but our grandchildren will.

It's true. People are behaving as though Britain's emissions are causing Britain's climate problem, but it doesn't work like that. If we contribute less than one percent of global emissions then we contribute less than one percent of the problem. And while we are virtue-signalling to the world with our net zero aspirations, Trump is going to be pedalling furiously in the opposite direction with "drill, baby, drill", and I wonder how much fossil fuel China will burn while its factories are churning out thousands of electric cars and buses for the world (Chinese irony?).
Meanwhile our already inadequate flood defences are crumbling. 200 years ago, living in river valleys and on coasts was a very good idea, but not any more. In 200 years time or sooner, the combination of extreme weather and rising sea levels will have half the population running for the hills. The government needs a department for climate defence, not net zero.
