Post by: Old Cruser on May 15, 2025, 05:26:23 PM
Yes, it's certainly dropped temperature wise, I've actually put my heating on today for awhile.
Plus still No RAIN ------- we'll be on a water ban very soon I reckon   :-?

I've yet to understand why we, as an island, surrounded by water STILL rely on rain and reservoirs.

Why the coastal towns and cities at least are not getting water from the sea through desalination amazes me. It's the same with these giant offshore wind farms, whatever happened to wave power, there's plenty of wave motion around these isles just ask Canute.

I saw headlines on the net about a hosepipe ban. Didn't read it but wouldn't be surprised if it happened!
The water rates have been bumped up thus year, nothing new to show for that - or is there and I've  missed it

Went to town this morning for a few things {as it had stopped raining} we got as far as Penmore and the heavens opened so went home. Tried again and got there at 10:58 stayed for an hour, by then it very warm and the sun was out, got back to the car at 11:00 and had to pay £3:70 for the privilege.

Where did you park? :-?

We were in town last week, the wind was strong and dust from the stone slabbing affecting my asthma - always a moan from OC  :)) :))

I usually park in the c.p. next to the town hall, it's scandalous the money they are charging for parking.

I think from now on if I need to go to town I'll jump on the bus. It's a good job I'm not in a hurry because when I went to town the other day I was stood at the bus stop for at least half an hour before one turned up, and there was a couple that had been sat there ten minutes before I got there.
