Sport / Re: Clare Boring!!!

Clare Boring has introduced Wimbledon again this year, my 6 year old gt/grandaughter knows more about tennis than she does, wads of papers on her desk she has to keep referring to when with the likes of Billie Jean McEnroe et al.

I don't know the exact amount she's paid for the two weeks at Wimbledon but her B.B.C. salary is up past the £2000,000 mark and I bet if you checked all the Wimbledon fortnight she wouldn't have been on screen for more than 15 hours.

The death of Diogo Jota.

When I heard what had happened on the news the other day I thought, surely he must have been speeding, thinking it had happened here but as more information unfolded I thought "Well I'm not surprised"

A 28 year old driving a Lamborghini at 12:30 a.m. in Spain having a puncture overtaking another vehicle you can see why I'm not surprised.
I can take a well educated guess as to what happened and I wasn't even there.

So what's happening? shrines going up left right and centre, fans in Liverpool feigning tears because the news cameras are rolling it's pathetic.......
GET A GRIP, he wasn't a ground breaking scientist who had discovered cures for tropical diseases, he wasn't a charity aid worker who had spent his adult life in third world countries tending the sick and dying... he was a footballer, he kicked balls into a net for a living and was very well paid for it.
Don't get me wrong all deaths are tragic but there are those that can be placed in the "Shouldn't have happened category" and I believe this one fits the bill.

Walked down Packers row this morning and rounded onto Low Pavement. Me and the wife walked past the old Halifax towards Santander and the paving slabs are an utter disgrace..well more than that they are a deathtrap, they are really bad, however anyone hasn't slipped and broken something is beyond me {if it ends up being either me or the wife the council can get ready}
The bottom half of the market looks like work has ground to as halt, can't see any progress at all. As for the car park at the rear of the town hall loads of slabs are piled in there covering half the car park depriving the council of car parking fees, no wonder they keep putting the charges up.

I usually park in the c.p. next to the town hall, it's scandalous the money they are charging for parking.

I think from now on if I need to go to town I'll jump on the bus. It's a good job I'm not in a hurry because when I went to town the other day I was stood at the bus stop for at least half an hour before one turned up, and there was a couple that had been sat there ten minutes before I got there.

lets hope your bus turns up!!!
