Details from the roadworks site as follows :-

Information for Road Users
Traffic restrictions: Diversion
Name: 35790258 Saltergate
Description:Road closure-Saltergate (Eastbound only) - 14th January to 28th February 2019.- Crane lift into new multi storey car park site.

There is a diversion route shown but not 100% sure how right it is as it seems to go up Stephensons Place and then along through town on Rose Hill before turning up after the Town Hall.

I was in town this morning and traffic going along Saltergate into town were being diverted down Rose Hill and along Knifesmithgate (not sure where to after that), and the queues were horrendous.

I hadn't realised it was on for that length of time, I just assumed that it was a temporary closure whilst they were taking a delivery.
