Nyah, nesting robins :-)
« on: April 20, 2012, 07:07:40 PM »
Can tell we don't have the outdoor cat any more.
Got a pair of robins nesting in a conifer in the back garden  :)

I'll try and get a shot, like yeh . . .  ;)

Aww I love Robins, we have either one or two coming to our feeder and I hoping really really hoping Flash our cat doesn't eat them as I suspect he has the others.  :(

Our Cat, "Tiggy", has so far only brought us mice, and one sparrow.
Until today..
Outside my back door this morning a dead baby rabbit about 10 inches long.
We have allotments to the back of us and an open field to the front.
I think its time we reinstalled the bell on his collar.
We have pheasants and grouse around here..not for much longer perhaps :'( :'(

Ohh cats are hunters aren't they, ours tried to get a pidgeon through his cat flap about three years ago, didn't manage it but ate it all on the lawn! and he was after a squirrel when young. The squirrel ended up half way up our house wall before jumping down and racing off with Flash in hot on it's heels!
Never bothered about collars on him though as frightened he may get it caught in something and strangle himself.
These days @ 13, he sleeps most of the time.

Sorted it - this cheeky Robin was taking food out of the containers whilst I was filling up the ground/bird feeders. he flew to the post when Flash appeared.
Birds are really busy at the moment  :)
