Aid for flood victims

Nobody would disagree that getting flooded is devastating but when uninsured homes get priority for aid doesn't it make you wonder why bother dishing out your hard-earned on buildings and contents insurance?

I know some of the high risk areas find it hard to get insured against floods but surely that is reflected in the price you pay for your house.

We've just changed our insurers they were costing an arm and a leg, there it goes again Slacker, those that don't bother 'get' !!!

Uninsured car drivers don't get assistance, so why should homeowners?

Because uninsured drivers don't get to appear on news programmes crying their eyes out because they have no insurance!!!

Motor insurance is compulsory because of the damage you can do to others. Though I've not seen someone who only has 3rd party asking for a government or council handout

I suppose it should come as no surprise, as we all pay higher car insurance premiums to make up for the uninsured w*nkers

I suppose in a way its a fairer system as long as the people we subsidise are insured in the first place, as a lot will not have realised when buying their house it was going to get flooded in the future, not quite the same as an uninsured driver.
