Sales around Christmas
« on: December 28, 2011, 10:38:11 AM »
I know a lot of people who would break a leg or two just to elbow their way into a store during the sales around the holidays. Not sure about any of you guys here, but if you intend to make a "bargain", check the prices online first. Especially what they used to be only a couple of weeks ago or so. There are stores who will drop the price for a short while before Christmas and then increase the price tag again just in time for the sale.

Personally I'm staying away from the sales because my insurance wouldn't cover the damages  ;)

To be honest its not something ive been that bothered in doing i hate crowded places so shoving my way through a shop just to pick up something i dont even need seems pointless. That said i went to Matalan this morning just to get Laura some clothes and looks as though most stuff has gone.

That's one of the reasons I stay away myself....that, and the fact that I hate shopping overall :p
Besides, there's enough black holes to put the money into as it is.

I always look online first and more often than not, ill buy online too if its something I can wait for.  Last good deal I got was a cable for my Router.  £7.99 in Currys - £1.50 online!  Oh my exciting life...

People who go hunting for bargain on Boxing Day especially need to get a life.  They think they are getting a bargain when in reality they arent.  Its the time of year for shops to get rid of their 'end of line' stock.
Im a bomb technician.  If you see me running, try and keep up

hehe...well, sometimes you can save big by shopping online. I bought all my gifts online this year. Anything to avoid the craze before the holidays...and otherwise too for that matter.

Same here with clothes. Buying most of mine online at Simply Be these days. Can't find anything in my size anywhere in town any more. And I'm not sure what their line of thoughts are because more and more people are overweight, while fashion is going in the other direction. It will end with a lot of fat people running around nekkid  ;D
