"AMERICAN DREAM" is an original concept by society members John & Kathryn Kersey.

THE STORY :~ Hattie is producing a revue based around great American songs from classic and contemporary musicals, movies and pop, however she's having trouble deciding what to include and is getting a bit stressed about it all. Her dad Joe fortunately is very supportive and suggests that they both just chill out and have a think about it. They both nod off and suddenly they're on a dream trip round the good old US of A, going from city to city discovering the wealth of material to choose from. The first stop is Kennedy Space Center for "Fly Me to the Moon". Another stage on the journey is the west coast to experience numbers from Hollywood, Disney and Pixar - "My Heart Will Go On", "Candle on the Water" (Pete's Dragon), "God Help the Outcasts" (Hunchback of Notre Dame) and "You've Got a Friend in Me" (Toy Story). The last port of call is New York where Hattie begins to feel she's going be successful with her show and sings "Defying Gravity" (Wicked). She and Joe also experience the culture clash between West and East Side with "Officer Krupke" (West Side Story) and "The Edge of Glory" (Lady Gaga).
When they wake up from their little nap they realise there is so much on offer from all eras it doesn't matter what they pick as "There's No Business Like Showbusiness".
