READ  IMMEDIATELY AND PASS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW

Someone is sending out a very cute screensaver of the Budweiser Frogs.

If you download it, you will lose everything! Your hard drive will crash and  someone from the Internet will get your screen name and password! DO NOT  DOWNLOAD IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

It just went into circulation  yesterday. Please distribute this message. This is a new, very malicious  virus and not many people know about it. This information was announced  yesterday morning from Microsoft. Please share it with everyone that might  access the Internet.

Once again, Pass This on  Please

Better to be safe than sorry

Does it not help instead of having "http:", having "https"  the extra "s" meaning safe or secure, or indeed summat like that. I'm sure one of my mates on facebook told me if you alter the settings, its stops hackers.
Fly will know for sure I guess. ???

Is there anything to this "https" thing? I saw that slopping around on Facebook a while ago, and thought it was just another one of those panicky messages that seem to mushroom out, like the ones about Fb charging to use the service, and so on.

I'm not using Netscape 5, by the way! ;D

Setting your FB account to use HTTPS does make data you send through FB more secure.
What you lose are features like the 'Chat' messaging, games, apps etc.
I use 'Chat' a lot so don't bother using HTTPS.

HTTPS won't make a blind bit of difference on FB if you post your going on holiday in May 2012,
or you mention your street, or your new car, or worse, photo's.

A friend of mine once posted a picture of his brand new car on an internet forum, proud, new car.
I reminded him that other members knew what area he lived in. He removed the photo.

Basically, there's a lot of scaremongering on FB, but I think common sense is best used.
IMHO  ;)
