There's actually some points in that article that make you think twice about things.

In particular, be sure, while in Bongo Bongo land, to visit the shrine to the people of Hull and West Yorkshire, a disproportionate amount of whose income is used to sustain the more luxurious aspects of Bongo life. Of course, the ordinary Bongo, plagued by a lack of intellect, poverty and disease, is unaware of this flow of cash, but the handful of politicians and chiefs who run the country have enough gratitude for all of them.

these people were far better catered for under colonial rule, when they were bestowed with an English education and when their labour and mineral riches were used to generate breathtaking wealth for Brits, rather than the other way round.

Mr Cameroon is reported to have said that there is a totally legitimate debate to be had about whether it is right to 'keep our promise to overseas aid'
Seems we have promised monies up until 2015, to eradicte diseases, and a national self interest to help keep people from such as Somalia migrating to our shores.

Whilst we are told Nigeria is spending millions to put a man into space - and we are giving them £1billion in foreign aid.

Meanwhile I will have a rant of an old fart who has worked to pay my way for 48yrs and getting stuff all on the savings I have made to help me live during my retirement - and this low interest we are told is to be continuing for another 3 years  >:(

Couple this with the way the welfare bill is being done I don't think it can be justified - we all have to cut our cloth according to what we can afford -
