Civic Society to honour Chesterfield Market Hall as an historic building

Just reading about the Market Hall - apparently the Chesterfield Civic Society will be unveiling a blue plaque on Tuesday 8th April.
"The survival of the Market Hall, which was built in 1857, and its recent £4 million refurbishment will be celebrated at the plaque unveiling. The plaque will join a number of others around Chesterfield erected by the Civic Society on some of the town’s most historic buildings including S41 Bar, the late 15th Century building on St Mary’s Gate and the 13th century bowling green on Beetwell Street."

Will that be next to the blue sign which claims the Market Hall has a changing room with hoist then?

To be fair it's a beautiful old building and shouldn't be judged by the failures of the current architects/council etc.
I'm very happy and proud of our market hall.

TBH Pete, your right. The town would look so different without it.
But did it really need that much spending on it ?

I don't know mate - I've only seen the changes to the market's inside. Whatever they have done to the fabric of the building and to the offices and rooms upstairs, I haven't seen.
