How to find out a buildings age
« on: May 30, 2015, 05:57:00 PM »
Anyone know how to find out the age of a building?  Was talking to the OH today and she said about the building she grew up in had stone steps down to the cellar that were worn.  In my mind these steps must be pretty old, so when i asked her how old the building was she didn't know.

For reference the building in question is the old Angel Hotel (now a Tesco) on Derby Road.

According to Hirst's Chesterfield Pubs, "Approval granted in 1920 for transfer of licence from the Angel Hotel High Street to the new pub to be built at Derby Road, St Augustines."

HTH.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
