Got an E mail supposedly from Plusnet saying they owed me money as I was overcharged and to click on to see the E mail in a better window, obviously I didn't as I KNOW I'm not being overcharged so rang Plusnet.

As I thought they never sent the E mail so have past it on to their phishing guys...........SO BEWARE!!!!

Sent a text to my daughter {who also has Plusnet} she replied she has the same E mail so she will ring Plusnet asap.

The E mail looks so convincing, but apparently there is a piece of info {that can be found on an original E mail} that's not on the bogus one.

Someone recently tried, well, succeeded sort of, to rip me out of £329 from my bank account via my Paypal account.
I got an invoice from Paypal for the amount i'd spent at 'Lidl Online Germany'. It's taken me a week to get my money back.

It makes me feel for the people not so savvy that do get caught up in scam/spam email traps

Unfortunately Fly I am one of those, I have mentioned on more than one occasion I am not very tech savvy when dealing with computers, this is why I don't do certain things with mine.
I don't order stuff {and pay for it} online.
I don't bank on line.
Any E mails I receive concerning my money {i.e. Plusnet} I bypass the E mail and go onto the safe site and query it or better still I ring the people concerned.

I keep getting automated calls supposedly from BT and Visa. The BT ones tell me that my Internet will be cut off in the next 24 hours unless I press '9' on my keypad. The Visa ones tell me that there's an unusual transaction for a large amount {usually £600) and to press a certain key to stop it.

Needless to say I ignore both of them, but I've no doubt that some people will react to them.

Last month I had apparently 'won' a hamper and the caller wanted to check my address to send it me. I had fun for awhile winding her up She eventually got the messaged and put the receiver down.

According to the BBC today there's a new scam going round involving a brand new top of the range phone.

It's delivered with your name on it, then when your sat wondering if you ordered it or not, the courier returns saying it's been wrongly delivered and can they have it back, you then give it back a week or so later you're stuck with the bill.

Either refuse to hand it back and/or ring the police, unfortunately most "honest" people would just hand it back.
After all you've paid for it {you probably can't figure out how!} but you obviously have.

It's took me till now to get all my bank cards, accounts, etc back into order.
Gawd knows how someone else less savvy would have coped. It really does make me feel sorry for them

This was never mentioned, I took it upon myself to "add" the last bit as it stands to reason if there is no money involved them basically there's no scam or if there is I can't see it.

I'm not sure what this one was but a lady called me wanting my address as I had won a 'Hamper' really??
She was very insistent I needed to give my address so i would receive the 'Hamper'
The lady quoted my address ( correctly ) but wanted me to confirm it.

I told her to just post it to the address she had and if i lived there I would get it if not whoever lived there would get it and I was ok with that.
She hung up.
I haven't received my 'Hamper'

I have no idea where it was leading or what it was about but I hadn't entered any raffles apart from local charity ones who all had my mobile - not landline
