That statement I can't fault, agree totally, death traps off the roads.
As a taxi driver, there's all to many laws apertaining to Public Service Vehicles.

I think it's a disgrace. People spend a good deal of time customising their vehicles and therefore they are likeley to be more roadworthy and driven more carefully than the bog standard.

It's ok to modify a car to make it go faster etc., but please remember to upgrade the brakes to make it stop quicker.
Loads of "supercars" - i.e. the ones we can't afford to run - let alone buy - are limited to 155 mph, because if they went any faster the brakes amongst other things wouldn't cope.
I don't see the point anyway when you can only do 70 mph on motorway - ok you get there a bit quicker but...
Mate of mine in the 80's restored a Ford Escort Mexico 2 litre. Five of us in the car going up Hady Hill at 80 mph!!
