British Soldier killed by American Forces
« on: September 03, 2012, 04:42:59 PM »
Can anyone explain why we shouldn't bring our troops home now?

That story's nearly 3 year old Pete, did you miss the date ?
Still a reminder of how trigger happy the US are though  :(

It's actually a story about the coroner Fly - sorry I didn't make that clear.

It is front page news today.

Can't see that there will ever be peace in such a primitive country with tribal factions. Waste of time us being there. Can't win against guerilla warfare on their own territory. Pull out.

Slightly off topic, but not much.

I can remember this thing happening before, question is Can anyone remember the reverse situation? Did UK troops ever fire on Americans by accident?

I think that probably in the next 12 months the sh1t will really hit the fan. Israel will strike at Iran and a war will start. The Yanks will go in, (especially if Romney wins, but probably under Obama too), and it would take a strong Prime minister to then say no to the Ameican president about us joining in.

Same as CC and K4B.
We sould stop meddling in other countries problems and yes there is a big chance of a bust up big time between Israel and Iran - of course the Americans will stick their big fat beaks in yet again and our sheep in government will join them

Not the image I was looking for but this shows how many wars USA has been in in recent times. One thing in common (certainly in recent times) none was on their own turf, all involved interfering elsewhere. Some middle eastern countries are primitive and oppressive and fanatically religious but why does USA see its role as world police?

I think putting the Cold War on there is a bit much, it's like the UK list including the Icelandic Cod Wars!!
and just to be pedantic the Revolutionary war started before they became a country!!
That said they have missed Korea and Cambodia

It wasn't the link I was looking for which was a comparison of what countries the (supposedly dangerous) Iran had invaded compared with USA and why they should be blocked from having nuclear weapons when oppressive regime Israel is allowed to have them
